A long time ago I was content on most days
I stressed the little things, but rarely worried
At my side was an angel
Though there were times when we longed for something
There were more days that I felt we had everything

Suddenly the angel was no more
She fled my side, bitter and sad loving and hating me
In her absence I was left broken and in despair
Lost and pitiful I struggled to learn and grow
I did grow, stronger but little else changed

I met another who wore angels wings
They were only borrowed and quickly they fell off
A strange place was my new dominion
Wonderful and

7th of August LOLFor deviantART's 12th birthday, the staff decided to throw a delicious surprise party for Fella. They gathered at Fella's favorite restaurant, The Fancy Squirrel, with presents in hand. Llama brought Fella to the door and once they stepped in, all of the staff screamed, "Holy Llama!!!!" Fella was so shocked that he instantly created. He opened his presents to find that Llama had given him 12 pieces. He was amazed! He would never forget that night.

So WOW... Epic piece from my own standpoint. Took me about a week to do, holiday and distractions aside... I'd really like to take some time to talk about this piece, if you'll all indulge me - and read on...

1. I created this piece using a bit of 'purchased stock', from a Photographer whose work I enjoy thoroughly. The model's name is Dane. And for the sake of copyright, let's go ahead and credit the specific photo: Dane by *hoshq. I wanted to use work from him as the base not just because I'm a fan of HIS, but because he's doing something new here on deviantART. He's allowing other artists to purchase his work FAR below cost. Private enjoyment, paid stock - but totally available. These are finished photos, post-edit - that we can use. It's a new thing on deviantART to purchase for points, and it gives us digital artists the chance to work with 'finished' photos with access we've never enjoyed before. I wanted to encourage this, to foster it, to show them with a glaring statement like "Hey, if you let us do this, some may disappoint, but some REALLY try hard to make something amazing!".

I humbly submit this piece, and hope you'll all enjoy, most of all, I hope YOU enjoy this Drew.

2. The second thing I want to talk about is the color palette and design of this piece. As an artist I have my comfort zones, and my preferences... But I worry that my work is getting a little stale.. So I really wanted to explode my gallery by doing something very bright, very different, and totally from a different perspective than what I normally do. SURE, a nude beautiful woman - not new for me... BUT, the perspective, the pose, and the colors?! I blew my OWN mind at my daring. I hope you can appreciate this as well.

3. On the piece itself... It WILL see a few variants, including a Wallpaper version. Each variant will feature different colors and background elements, with the Wallpaper version I plan, being tailored entirely to my tastes. If along the way, as I'm sharing the variants, you would LIKE a wallpaper version, please - feel free to ask.

Finally... I'd like to dedicate this piece to my friends Dean (aka `AwsumZ) and Leo (aka `VAngelLJ). I'm certain you'll both enjoy the colors, and knowing me like you do, and with the talent you both have, can also recognize what went into this. Enjoy.

John, I would LOVE and be HONORED to work with your photos... To do so, I need something high-res. At least a 2500 pixels tall. Helps with the details, to see them clearly at larger resolution. I would not publish a print or make the work for sale at that resolution... This particular piece is available as a print ONLY because Drew so graciously and kindly offered and allowed it to be so. If I found a photo above the others I wanted to work with, would you email me the high-res version? And... John truly - thank you for the praise on my work, it means quite a lot!
